The Way of the Exploding Fist OST version - arranged by TollisReview by LaLa, 24/10/2025 After listening to this remix many, many times I pondered a LOT over whether I should even write this review. But I think I need to speak my mind on this. So, here it goes. I have a nagging suspicion that this remix was created with heavy AI assistance. I readily admit that this is purely a gut feeling of mine at this point, based only on what I'm hearing in this remix. I don't think the entire remix was AI generated with a single prompt. Sounds like sections of the backing tracks were, maybe the violin leads were, too. And then Tollis edited it all together in a DAW. But the percussion, the strings, and a few other instruments all have the hallmark of being AI generated. I am not fundamentally against AI - if it's used judiciously. Using a machine learning algorithm to generate a few bars of a performance on an instrument, or cleaning up the mix here and there with AI - sure. But when the vast majority of a piece of music is created by AI, that's where I start to have an issue with it. Again, I have no objective data to support whether that's the case here, I am just writing down what I am hearing. And if I am proven wrong on this, I would be the first to happily admit that I am wrong. I desperately want to like this remix, because ultimately, it sounds pretty good (although, overall the mix is muddy, which is another telltale sign of AI involvement). But as of right now, I have a hard time giving higher marks to this remix based on what I am hearing. |

Basics of Love (feat. Makke) - arranged by moog (Sebastian Bachliñski)Review by iksz_cs_twarf, 18/10/2025 So this happens when someone puts just as much awesomeness and creativity into a cover as there is in the original. |

Laxity Again (mellow mix) - arranged by Joe [Stainless Steel] BarwickReview by iksz_cs_twarf, 18/10/2025 Agree with LaLa, this is a much underrated remix! Simple, but that's how Laxity's classic tunes are anyway. One of the best chillout pieces. |

Broware - arranged by MordiReview by PhunkyData, 16/10/2025 Brilliant funky oldskool style stuff Love it.! Tremendously good.Chapeau.! The site tells me…i need to write at least 15 words….reminds me of some scrollers we typed to fill up the bytes. 😉 |

Subway Vigilante - arranged by protonReview by LaLa, 13/10/2025 All the instruments are painfully flat and void of any expression. The mix is way too busy on all frequencies. The lead sound is comparatively too soft (of course, it's hard to stand out when everybody else around you is SHOUTING). And WTF is that at 1:47? (And then again at 3:18 and 3:35.) Just not a pleasant listening experience at all. |

The Great Giana Sisters Disco Party - arranged by Steve FosterReview by Divus, 26/09/2025 It's a fun and happy musical adventure, just as good as the biggest shows. It's short, nice, and makes you feel good. |

The Great Giana Sisters Disco Party - arranged by Steve FosterReview by LaLa, 22/09/2025 Oh, man, where to start? First off, let me say that this is a HUGELY enjoyable and dance-able piece, so mission accomplished! It also brilliantly incorporates many of the cliches of 1970s disco tunes - those archetypal disco strings, a driving bass line, the punchy drums. Yet, I find it hard to give it a red smilie, because at times the arrangement seems to fall apart a bit, knocking me out of my '70s disco groove. Maybe I am being too nitpicky?… Feel free to ignore these ramblings of a grumpy old man who will dance to this remix at any time, regardless. 😁 |

Test Drive 2 (Chill Out Edit) - arranged by Dr FutureReview by Isacco1975, 18/09/2025 It's a good remix, reminds me the last rendez-vous of Jean Michel Jarre in his album Rendez-vous. |

Wings of death - Stage 7 - Xandrilia's Domain - arranged by cubeReview by Isacco1975, 18/09/2025 Like the mix in general, the synth-metal style. I am not familiar with the tune, but is good and good mixed. |

Paperboy - arranged by SoundLogicReview by LaLa, 13/09/2025 The basic idea is solid. The chosen tempos of the various sections fit perfectly, too. Unfortunately, many of the instruments sound too flat. Also, I wish there was more glue between the various subtunes to make the flow feel smoother, right now the transitions are rather sudden (or non-existent). |

Way of the Exploding Fist - arranged by Kent WalldénReview by Waz, 12/09/2025 Twenty five years since this remix was released, and still as iconic as it was back then. It may not sound as well produced as others, but the whole essence of the tune remains wonderfully intact here, complete with sensible variations on the theme as the tune loops - with plenty of funky drums and some gorgeous instruments to add depth too. Classic. |
|
The Eidolon - arranged by LManReview by Waz, 12/09/2025 Depeche Mode meets Lucasfilm Games in this rather original and well crafted remix. The suitable synth and drum crashes punctuate ever so well and gives it a darkwave sinister feel that the original would have had if different instruments were used. Excellent all round. |
|
Starquake - arranged by Anders HesselbomReview by Waz, 11/09/2025 Short and sweet in equal measures, with plenty of flow and feel to keep it succince too. |

Knightmare (Valentine 2021 Jam Session) - arranged by The St. Albans Rob Hubbard Fan ClubReview by Waz, 11/09/2025 Steve Barrett's C64 theme tune to the game Knightmare doesn't cover the TV series theme tune either, so what has been done here is an effectively lovely remix of Steve's tune. And it really does pull it off well. There are some lovely acoustic guitars throughout that flow nicely, along with some subtle use of the piano where needed as well as the main lead having the space it needs to breathe well. The initial slower pace may sound too slow, but this stripped back approach works well to then allow the drums and other instruments to come in at a suitable time. Thoroughly enjoyable, although may take a few listens to fully get it. |

I am the Law (Judge Dredd) - arranged by 7DD9Review by Waz, 11/09/2025 Plenty of energy and fast pace in this one as 7DD9 gives it a futuristic electronic treatment here, complete with vocal samples. Maybe it needed to sound more Industrial, but nonetheless what is here is well crafted and shows careful handling of the beats and drops with plenty of the original feel still intact. |

Smile To The Sky 2025 - arranged by Tony Fluke73 WirenReview by Macron0, 11/09/2025 When he said he would make a cover I was worried he would make it too slick. (The genos 2 being a supersmooth instrument) But I worried for nonthing. It turned out super. Even thought the soung has a new coat every little detail I love about the song is there. I am really impressed and sure to be listening to this song a lot in the futere THX Tony and of course Geir for creating the original! This sing indeed changes my mood in a good way every time I hear it |

Aztec Challenge (Desert Storm Mix) - arranged by Sven StormReview by LaLa, 10/09/2025 The first half of this remix is very much in the spirit of the original game, it has strong character, it has just the right amount of spooky and scary mixed together. After the beat comes in at 1:22 it devolves into average. And I'm not sure what that balalaika is doing in the mix. I wish the energy and the uniqueness of the first half carried over to the second half, too. |

Atmosphere (Double Dragon II) [Encore500] - arranged by Jogeir LiljedahlReview by Isacco1975, 09/09/2025 i feel invincible after listening to this amazing remix! Super!!! Feel every pixel of each stage in the game! |

Lotus 2 (O.Stelzer Remix) - arranged by SolarstrikerReview by Isacco1975, 09/09/2025 This should deserve more likes! The definite remake of the new version of a hypothetic remake of the game! |
|
Ghouls n Ghosts (redubbed) - arranged by 0Supereg0Review by Isacco1975, 09/09/2025 Maybe with less reverb on main instrument would be better. Good reinterpretation anyway, it can be metal with some guitars! |
|
Echoing Genos Edition - arranged by Tony Fluke73 WirenReview by Isacco1975, 09/09/2025 Like the mood. Very good work. A nice one to listen, especially at work, maybe in a day where you have not too much to do! |
|
R-Type - arranged by proton & Tony Fluke73 WirenReview by Isacco1975, 09/09/2025 Sometimes the toms are quite high in volume, but I like this remake of the tune! |
|
Dan Dare 3 - arranged by BeeZerkReview by LaLa, 31/08/2025 Thanks for posting the instrumental version of this remix, too! Although I think it's more than that: it's not just that the vocals were stripped, but sounds like you added the original melody back in place of the vocals, too. So, big kudos for that! I really like the vibe of this entire remix, can't stop bobbing my head to the rhythm! 🎵 |

LAST V8 (live yt vid) - arranged by LukHashReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 This is trademark Lukhash - bold, bright, and uncompromising. The gorgeous synths and drums really do underpin the whole tune wonderfully well - and the involvement of the original game's speech just enhances the feel a little more.Yes it is loud and in your face, but that's what the original game felt like (not least with those broken controls!) and the feeling comes through very strongly here. Still for me one of those remixes that stands the test of time. |
|
Storm - 2017 Version - arranged by Glyn R BrownReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 Beautiful use of the piano as ever and with the fast pace that this 2017 version has, it really does still after all these years kick in very nicely. It sounds like Glyn had plenty of fun with this one, especially the voices in the second part to add a second dimension to that, sounding euphoric trance-like in its way that it all just builds. |
|
The Human Race - arranged by MRTReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 From the opening section with some gorgeous instruments and feeling of space, the mix develops into a really lovely sense of being somewhat uplifting and yet reflective at the same time. That demo scene-like gentle arpeggio in the background is just the icing on a very nice cake full of surprises. Thoroughly enjoyable. |
|
Agent X 2 - arranged by Tim ForsythReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 There's so much delightful warmth in this one, from the precision of those rises and falls that are the Follin trademarks of the original, and being played with gusto and virtuousity. When you listen to how much Tim has progressed since then, remixes like this show the foundation of what was there - musicality, authenticity and enjoyment of the original that shines through. |
|
One man and his droid - arranged by DummyReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 Did someone say One Man and His Droid goes swashbuckling? It's very much of that era of film-making with this one, and plenty of lovely instrumentation and timing to make it go along. The main hooks and verses are all there - and if the middle interlude Maneater-esque section had been perforrmed, that would have elevated it even higher. A very enjoyable and well crafted listen nonetheless. (and please do another remix some time Dummy, this one showed so much promise and skill) |
|
Bump Set Spike (Schizo Classical Remix) - arranged by Nicklas SchmidtReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 From the opening stanza of the main piano having a lovely relaxed feel, and on to the middle waltz part that wouldn't look out of place at an Andre Rieu concert, to the final more bombastic Proms-like show, the way this develops in its arrangement is carefully crafted and skilled. A definite grower with each listen and comes highly recommended. |
|
Action Biker - arranged by Johan AnderssonReview by Waz, 29/08/2025 Clean and concise, and the arrangement works wonders to keep things as fun as the original, which is key here. Lovely use of the guitars too to give it that sligthtly country rock feel and keeping that intact too. I enjoyed this back then and still do now. |
