Born in 1971, I grew up during the rise of homecomputers like the Commodore 64 and the NWOBHM/hard rock music scene. This era was pivotal, with artists like Rob Hubbard on the computer side and Iron Maiden and Gary Moore on the hard rock side.

I was fascinated by computers and music from a young age and spent some time experimenting with Amiga music software. However, lacking any musical foundation or instrument skills (apart from the Clarion) I gravitated towards the electric guitar after witnessing a high school classmate playing the intro to Maiden’s Wasted Years. How ironic!

 

From then on, guitar playing became a passion. I formed a rock band, played countless parties and weddings with a more commercial musical duo and occasionally incorporated writing music into my daily routine. However it wasn’t until the Covid pandemic that writing music truly became a bigger part of my life.

In 2026, I’m the lead singer and lead guitarist of an alternative rock band called Carving Stone in the Netherlands. It’s purely a hobby, not professional, but music is essential to me and I enjoy the balance it provides between work and life.
