Giana Sisters - Arok - arranged by Glyn R BrownReview by LaLa, 10/11/2021 Boggles my mind how this placed only 4th at the Árok remix compo in 2021… This is a finely tuned epic choral-orchestral-cinematic take on Hülsbeck's classic tune. Throw in some vocal chops, maybe a pipe organ here and there, mix it up with some generous reverb - then add that special sauce that only Mr. Brown possesses, and you get a masterpiece. Mind blown! 🤯 |

Lightforce 2.0 (countermelodic) - arranged by EftosReview by L0rd3vyL, 30/10/2021 I'm usually open to all kinds of remixes, but this one does absolutely nothing for me. Not good at all. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a lower score is I like the concept, but the execution is terrible. Bad! |

Prelude & Fugato - arranged by BeeZerkReview by LaLa, 29/10/2021 While the SID (and thus, its remix) is based on a Bach piece, BeeZerk managed elevate it to new sonic heights with elegance and grace. Sounds wonderful! |

Myth - History In The Making - arranged by Marton BenczeReview by LaLa, 28/10/2021 Hello and welcome to the Commodore remix community! Üdvözlünk! A synth-heavy version of the classic Jeroen Tel tune, which goes to the dark side more than once. It's put together well, although I think the overall arrangement could be a bit more sophisticated. Looking forward to hear more remixes from you! |

Lightforce (2021 Edit) - arranged by Dr FutureReview by tim_forsyth, 26/10/2021 Red for me, partly because this is a great remix but mainly cause you've improved almost everything from your original. Guitar playing is more natural, especially the end lead solo, replacing some synths for guitar give is a more cohesive sound. Less reverb and boominess on the bridge, the thinned out pulse width synth sounds better plus the drums and toms sit better in the mix. Great work, these may be subtle changes but they make a big difference. |

Ocean Loader 4 (Beneath the Current) - arranged by Octupus Tea offlineReview by LaLa, 26/10/2021 Welcome to the Commodore remix community! A nice, minimalist arrangement which would be fitting as the soundtrack to a kids toy. Nice touch with the waves sample (ocean loader - I get it 😉). The mix sounds too dry, I think adding some reverb would've helped create a better aquatic atmosphere. But not bad for a first remix, not bad at all! |

Lightforce (2021 Edit) - arranged by Dr FutureReview by LaLa, 24/10/2021 I have no idea how you manage to get your mixes sound so crisp and clear, but doesn't matter on what system I listen to this one, it just punches through speakers and headphones no problem. Anyway, I gave your previous version an orange 2 years ago, and this one definitely earns the red one. More guitars, less reverb/echo on the lead, and just an improved sound overall. I wish the guitar lead was more nuanced at places (like at 4:36 maybe should've used mutes instead), but that's just a minor gripe. I really like it! |

Lightforce - arranged by Tim ForsythReview by vosla, 21/10/2021 Would like go into details so much but I'm an idiot when it comes to music. |

Lightforce - arranged by Tim ForsythReview by LaLa, 19/10/2021 Tim is proving himself to be quite the remix meister, and here's another proof of that. A surprising, but very creative intro followed by a more upbeat straight remix of Lighforce, and it concludes with a much darker outro. As usual with Tim's remixes, the mixing is top-notch and it all just sounds very satisfying to my ears. PS: Prior to release [https://www.remix64.com/board/viewtopic. php? f=1&t=11773 Tim put up just the intro part of his remix in the R64 forum for people to guess] which tune's remix it is. I don't think anybody got it right, including me. That was a fun little game. 😉 |

Gaplus - arranged by Eivind SommerstenReview by LaLa, 05/10/2021 As happy as I am to finally hear a remix of this almost-forgotten Jeroen Tel tune, this one leaves me a bit unsatisfied. The simplistic arrangement is obviously intentional, but it feels to me there's a real remix waiting to burst out of it - but it never does. Too bad, because it really has all the elements that would make it great - we just don't hear them all together at the same time. The whistling towards the end was a pleasant surprise, even if it's a bit out of tune here and there, but that just makes it sound more real. 😉 |

Dominator Loader (Dominant mix) - arranged by Ctrl-ZReview by Shargo, 30/09/2021 I really like this song, it's drive, sounds - all comes together in a nice upbeat song |

Last Ninja Remix - The Sewers Intro (2021 Remix) - arranged by Fabio MarinelliReview by LaLa, 29/09/2021 This remix creates a really nice atmosphere right out of the gate. It's a nice mixture of gentle mystery and a subtle, creepy background. But… just when I am about to get into it, it ends. More, please! |

Dominator Loader (Dominant mix) - arranged by Ctrl-ZReview by Nibe, 28/09/2021 The extension made it more complex! I prefer longer remixes and it made the song not overloaded with unnecessary repetitions. keep it up guys! |

Dominator Loader (Dominant mix) - arranged by Ctrl-ZReview by mv0nti, 26/09/2021 Refreshing, up-beat, cool breaks, good variations, and exactly the right dose of blirps! 😉Not only a neat interpretation, but also a remarkable extension of the original! |

Lightforce - arranged by Skaven252Review by Dr Future, 17/09/2021 Very good remix, nice to hear. Especially the steam boat sound at 2:23 is a cool fx. |

Ghosts n Goblins (Ghosts n Thrillers) - arranged by MakkeReview by Nibe, 17/09/2021 I want a whole thriller album remakke-d!! Can we do a crowdfunding for that? This remix summons all up what we love about your style! 100%yes! |

Lightforce - arranged by Skaven252Review by LaLa, 17/09/2021 Wow, quite an honor to see Skaven's name pop up here - a legend all by himself! It's actually kinda funny to see the moniker Newcomer next to his name (at the time of this writing) - which he most definitely isn't. 😁 He has graced us with his first ever SID remix submission - and what a remix it is! A hybrid symphonic-electronic cinematic style tour-de-force. It's 6+ minutes long, but there's not a single boring moment in it. My favorite is probably the super-raspy brass from 2:23 - holy moly, that just cuts straight through to my bones! An absolutely jaw-dropping production, just top-notch. Love it. 👍👍👍 Welcome, Skaven, and I hope you'll take the time to create more SID/Amiga remixes in the future, too! |

Gerry The Germ #7 - arranged by o2Review by Zod, 14/09/2021 Looks like I'm dancing alone at the start but after that my boobs start to dance with me, but wait… what? |

Supremacy (Cobalt8 Mix) - arranged by RamjetReview by LaLa, 11/09/2021 Welcome to the remix community, Ramjet! 🙋♂️A fairly straightforward cover of the classic SID, closely following the original's arrangement. So, nothing to complain about there. What's missing here is some sophistication in the instrumentation. I don't know if that was deliberate, but they all sound fairly flat with little movement, other than some reverb that got sprinkled around. I'd say pretty good for a newbie, so keep at it! |

Ghosts n Goblins (Ghosts n Thrillers) - arranged by MakkeReview by Dan, 01/09/2021 Classic Makke, a real treat of a throwback to when RKO had a bit of character 😃 |
|
Ghosts n Goblins (Ghosts n Thrillers) - arranged by MakkeReview by wobbler, 01/09/2021 I'm just so happy that Makke re-entered the… … eh, scene. His (yours, Makke) stuff continues to be super innovative, packaged in a purrfect retro box. All I want, really. |

GRG-Title Needed - arranged by MagnarReview by myridian, 28/08/2021 This song is quite happy, if that's a description. It certainly always lifts my spirits when I am feeling down. |

Terra Cresta - arranged by Tim ForsythReview by LaLa, 27/08/2021 Tim must have a built-in awesomizer. Somehow he was able to take an iconic Galway tune and make it even better. We don't even get to hear the iconic lead until 3 minutes into the tune, but it's not like it's all boring up to that point, on the contrary. And that lead: why mess with perfection, just use the SID as-is! And then he goes into his now-signature improv section that always elevates his remixes to new heights, and it's no exception here. I'm absolutely blown away by this remix! |
|
Black Lamp - arranged by SlaygonReview by LaLa, 22/08/2021 While sonically perfect, it feels like this remix is trying to compress about 10 minutes worth of musical material into 3.5 minutes of a whirlwind. I get it, that was the time limit of the Árok compo, but it makes the arrangement feel a bit too mishmashy to me. |
