Story

This is my third attempt at a Spy vs Spy remix after trying some (unreleased and never finished) Pop version (in 2012) and some Garage house attempts, which failed miserably. After many days of work, I somehow ended up with this disco house piece. It never bothered me as a kid that this catchy ingame theme is only 17 seconds?! So looping it over and over does fit quite well for that style of music, I think. The BPM of the original was too fast, so I slowed it down to 132bpm and transposed it down to hit the bass sit better in the low-mid range. My neighbours probably hate me hearing endless loops and noises late at night. The vocoder voices are leftovers from previous attempts and incorporated in this version. Late 70's TV shows highly inspired the horns and arrangement (think of TV shows like Hart to Hart).

Lyrics:
I do appreciate your honesty
To be obsessed with me
I wake up hanging upside down
As soon you're letting me inside
Feeling alright
You're shredding me to pieces

Get your boogie on 😊

Great reinterpretation of a classic 64 game tune. Disco :)
Wow! Innovative quality. Superb!
Funky 70s styling (with modern production techniques)! All we are missing is the shiny disco ball... This is off the hook, dude - far out! ... (Upon multiple listens, maybe the filtering effect is overused a bit too much. But now I'm splitting hairs.)
AWESOME!
I spy with my little eye an excellent remix.
I am not a very keen dancer, but I could definitely see myself boogie down to this! As a vocal remixer, I would've liked some more diversity in the lyrics, but that's a minor detail.
So Freaking good stuff! I totally love it. Awesome work!
WoW!! I like it!!
Wow! Shakes my ass!
Never thought of Spy vs Spy as a disco tune, but now it's so obvious.
It starts lo-fi, but then when it should turn into hi-fi, it turns into a different kind of lo-fi.
Whaat? 1, 5 years since this was released and I haven't heard it until now? Better late than never meguess.
I love this and listen to it all the time - it's one of my all time favorite remixes!

Funky 70s styling (with modern production techniques)! All we are missing is the shiny disco ball 🕺 … This is off the hook, dude - far out! …

Upon multiple listens, maybe the filtering effect is overused a bit too much. But now I'm splitting hairs.

Upon even more listens on different equipment, one more critique: the final mix is way too hot (loud). Congratulations, you won the loudness wars… 😒

Still an awesome tune, I thoroughly enjoy it! 😀👍

Every aspect of this tune is technically well thought out and executed in perfection. Harmonious composition of sounds and effects. The original is implemented more than recognizable which gives the tune a very high
nostalgic credibility. Much time and effort spend to create such an elaborate piece of modern but still retroesque electronic music. Ingenius resembled that 70's sound and feel. Overall sound is crisp and clear. Pro Work! Very enjoyable and entertaining. A tune to remember.

Put a smile on my face when I heard it. Although disco is not a genre I'm a big fan of, this has clearly been cleverly crafted to create an authentic 70s disco track sound. A tad repetitive due to the shortness of the original, but the filtering and vocoded lyrics help extend its life… Overall a banging effort, authentic feel, and great fun to listen to. Well done.

Literally had me dancing in the shower. Brings you right back to that era. Those eerie backnotes were nicely blended in
