Will You remember (Gone) - arranged by MRTReview by LaLa, 30/11/2015 What a wonderful, clean arrangement: not a single note that's wasted, not a single note that's useless. But what really makes this remix is the lyrics: it's a mix of touching eulogy and techno-romance that may not seem so out of place today in the age of smartphones and smart TVs - but this began 30 years ago when it was not fashionable and commonplace to be glued to computer screens. One cannot be NOT moved by the lyrics, and, of course, by the synthesized voice that sings it: that unmistakable Commodore speech engine. My only technical note is that I wish the voice was put more in front of the rest of the mix. A remarkable piece of nostalgia. Dziekuje, Tomasz! |

Will You remember (Gone) - arranged by MRTReview by exocytosis, 25/11/2015 Will You Remember is, simply put, an amazing piece of work - the slew of string instruments in combination with the unmistakebly SID-esque synthesizer sound make for a great C64 cover all by itself. What really puts the icing on the cake and makes this song stand out is how its robot voice manages to convey feelings of despair, sorrow and sadness. With the expected technological singularity mere decades away, counting CPU cycles and juggling IRQs seem like a hazy memory of an age that briefly flashed before our eyes. With the impending society-wide introduction of super evolved computers that will forever change the world as we know it, I can see why our Commodore computers already urge us not to forget them, and plead for us to remember. And I will. I wouldn't be the same person if my great parents hadn't bought me my VIC-20 or my C128. I will remember. |

Last Ninja 2 - The Sewers loader (FreeJitsu-Mix) - arranged by wk-oneReview by LaLa, 20/11/2015 I find the intro more promising than the rest of the remix, which at 0:52 becomes just one of many LN2 remixes. There are a few cool ideas lurking in it, though. The most intriguing one is the whispering voices part after 2:12, that's very creative.I really want to like this remix so much, but it isn't fleshed out as well as it could've been. |

last ninja 2 - the office - alternative rock - arranged by timmya4000Review by kbilsted, 28/09/2015 The best part is the guitars at the end. Maybe doing another track with more deep end guitar?? |

Out Run - Magical Sound Shower - arranged by Johan AnderssonReview by drm, 13/09/2015 Outrun was one of the great arcade racers of the 80's and although the port to the c64 wasn't quite the experience the music got us closer. There are several Outrun remixes to listen to each vying for the congratulations and this one by Johan's is decent - even matching Peter W's award winning effort in terms of production. The guitar rhythm playing is tight and are accompanied by a nice palette of sounds that blend well together. However there is one flaw in this could be gem of a remix - it's far too slow. It's rather like listening to a 45rpm on 33rpm which kills that warm fuzzy adrenaline fueled nostalgia of the original. Maybe remixers spend so much time and effort making the track it begins to sound right and who can blame them after all, it is up to the remixer to dictate the tempo of their productions. Yet in this case it is from a racing game and in my opinion it needs that extra 20-30 bpm added on. In summary it's a great track and I'd urge you to download it if you are a fan of Outrun. I'd also advise that if you have a pitch shift or timestretch app then use it on the track and it really shifts from lo to hi gear… |

Tristesse - arranged by MordiReview by winc, 02/09/2015 When a song keeps playing over and over on my system, and I don't know I have listened to the same thing for 2 hours and that I continually to get goose bumps at the same place each time is the sign of a song that has been put together really REALLY well! You Originally this song was one of the ones I played on SID a lot - but now I am just going to be playing this even more! Great work!! |

Storm Warrior sub. 2 - arranged by MRTReview by Chris Abbott, 29/08/2015 Not a great start, a bit mechanical, but makes up for it later. Takes quite a while to get to the melodic point, but quite impressed by the solo put over Mark's wonderful but slightly repetitive original. There's a number of ways the dynamism in this could have been improved, but it's still a musically intelligent attempt, and had some great moments, especially in the second half. |

Tears From a Blind Eye - arranged by Hank (Lukasz Drzewiecki)Review by nightlord, 11/08/2015 I am honored to have my SID remixed with this much effort and love. I didn't know about the existence of this until 2 days ago and I was blown away with how well you understood the intentions behind various components from their SID renditions.Kudos: You completely nailed the feel of the acoustic guitar intro. You made the 3.04 - 3.08 range amazing. The addition of the distorted guitars (which I didn't think of in the original) makes that part so much more intense. Overall your drums rule Humble suggestion: - Like others called out the mix/mastering could be improved. Especially the bass was difficult to hear in places. I am grateful for this great remix. Thank you so much |

Magic Disk 64 (90's Euromix) - arranged by Instant RemedyReview by I_o, 02/06/2015 This sound is exactly what I needed. It conjures my Commodore experience without being so modern as to mix the worlds too much. |

Flight Path 737 (Riz Mix) - arranged by MontyReview by Benightedjim, 23/05/2015 You could imagine this as the theme tune to a 1970s drama series about a suave pilot flying his 737 around Europe. Tales of adventure, high drama, clandestine affairs, dangerous liaisons and the like. Oh, and bad aviator sunglasses, too. |

DeltaSisters (feat. Kermit) - arranged by Puffy64Review by FStarred, 20/04/2015 It's a pity that the registration quality could be done better, btw it's one of the best merge remix I've heard. At 1:17 reminds me of john mellencamp's human wheels song. |

Never Die (Skitz lives forever) - arranged by SlaygonReview by Nickenstein, 13/03/2015 The way that the classical stringed instruments are blended with a deep synthetic-bass is very hollywood, and would fit in perfectly in any current big-budget movie.Having now just listened to the original SID, I'm quite stunned at how expertly you have turned it into a very modern piece without loosing the essence of the source. Also, the dedication you made to Skitz in the title made me remember my time with him as I listened. There are tears on my desk. |

Rambo First Blood Part II (title theme) - arranged by Johan AnderssonReview by Nickenstein, 13/03/2015 As stated in my 'shout', this was the second piece of music I ever heard from my own C64 (As Rambo-FB-Prt-2 was the first cassette I loaded on that Christmas day so very very long ago.So I clearly have a huge nostalgia-hard-on for this particular tune, but putting my bias on hold, here is my review: SUPERB! Excellent guitar and piano sections. But the great instrumental work is so nice, that the vocal samples cheapen/taint the piece. I would love a new upload sans-vocals. 😃 |

Last Ninja 2 Sewers (feat. NecroPolo & Westerling) - arranged by SlaygonReview by puffy64, 11/03/2015 MASTERPIECE! Needs a new voting system to express the high production, creativity and playing skills of the artists that are involved. Intense mood of the sewers level was captured here perfectly. This remix was made with love to the tune, well chosen instrumentation and sets a mark for Matt Gray to beat in his upcoming LN2 project. For me, there could have been a heavier part at the end with a bit more rocking drums, but that's just my opinion. Slaygon and his team (special cheers to the guitarists involved) made a great, wonderful remix and I suggest everyone to immediately download and rate this to show them, that this one is IMPRESSIVE (as spoken in Quake 3 Arena). Thanks a lot for this brillant piece of music. |

Citadel (feat. NecroPolo) - arranged by Markus SchneiderReview by slaygon, 10/03/2015 Way under-rated track. The build-up is gorgeous. The cinematic aura of it is just perfect! Any movie would be happy to have this as its sound track! The delicately placed guitars from NecroPolo in the mix gives away the precision work Markus put into making this a mix to take seriously. And seriously, you should. The subtle choir at the 4 minute mark. The low string section at the beginning. This is as serious as a movie soundtrack would ever be. Rate it as such. (and I haven't even mentioned the low-end precision work throughout the track!) |
