Story

There are not that many remixes of Insects In Space… Only one in fact by Reyn. Listening to the sid and the intro kind of says why there's only one remix out there. At first I thought it wouldn't be possible to make a decent remix of it. At times I was sure I was going to give up on it. Three months into the remix I started implementing my ideas. The classical Martin Galway sid bassline sound was important for me to have in there because it's such a vital part of the song and I love how it wanders in sweet variations. I played around with the notes he used for the so called lead / arp. I created an arp effect and a cool trigger effect for a nice chilled out arp. After all the basics where done I came to a major halt. The original sid just stops and there are just some chords to build upon. I had to dig really deep to find inspiration and keep the track together. In the end I was very very happy with the result it was everything I wanted it to be. Oldschool sid Galway style, meets oldschool chillout music…..

Considering there isn't that much you can do with the original tune, it's a very good job all round to bring it more to life. One background high pitched noise does annoy on occasion though, but otherwise very good.

One thing that Peter is good at is "filling in the gaps" in otherwise sparse tunes. He doesn't disappoint in this tune.

Nicely trippy and the pads are excellent, I think it would be better without any drums as an ambient piece though.

I appreciate the serious work put into this track, it's a difficult tune to remix for sure. But not being an "Insects In Space" fan, I can't find much that exites me in this track. Excellent production though.
