What can one do with Plastic Pop that has not already been done? Translate it into Swedish, I guess? The lyrics are not a 1 for 1 translation of the original Danko lyrics. I had to tweak it a little, to fit Swedish better, and to contextualise some of the jokes.

The sound is based around a track called Om du var här by the Swedish synthpop duo Ratata. In the break between the verses, the vocalist of Ratata, Mauro Scocco, can be heard talking about synthesizers as an instrument like any other instrument, in an interview from the early 80s. This interview has been spliced with a sketch from the show Kvarteret Skatan, where a heavy metal fan proclaims that synth music is nothing more than four gays and a computer.
