Great Giana Sisters (OJ Osc's dig dub mix) - arranged by OJ OscillationReview by LMan, 20/06/2003 The perfect remix of this tune. It's the remix that I always imagined to do myself, but that's now obsolete because this is da shit, mon! ๐OJ Oscillation turns the first ingame tune of Giana Sisters into a real dub version. Production quality is perfect, mixing and stereo panorama is well balanced. A perfect tune for chilling out on hot summer's days. Excellent work! ๐ |

Biggles (fly with your brain propeller) - arranged by Rauli & MahoneyReview by LMan, 17/06/2003 Yeah! Bouncy beat, tasty bass and a catchy melody. Making excessive experimental use of effects units, Rauli & Mahoney manage to spice up this remix without making it sound like a mess. Production quality is very high, as to be expected from both, Mahoney and Rauli. To sum this up:I really really like this remix! ๐ |

Paperboy (Peaper boayh mix) - arranged by Dr Doom & Komatr:ohnReview by LMan, 06/03/2003 This is surely not what you'd expect from a remix of Paperboyโฆ but it surely rocks, mon! A boombastic dub-triphop-ragga-breakbeat blasts you up to higher states of conciousness, while the melody played in dubby ethno style keeps you there. The mixing and production quality is pretty good. Overall this is a great remix, very close to Outstanding. |

Laxity Again (mellow mix) - arranged by Joe [Stainless Steel] BarwickReview by LMan, 27/02/2003 It's always nice to see that someone takes on SIDs not so well known. Stainless Steel has choosen the proper description for his remake of Laxity Again, it is a mellow electronic ballad. Sound-style-wise I'd place it in the 90s, with a TR-909 beat accompanying the synths.Although the remix is indeed more mellow than the original, I still think it renders the feel of the SID perfectly. A really enjoyable listen! |

Miami Vice Loada - arranged by MistaDistahReview by LMan, 21/02/2003 After quite a long time, MistaDistah is back with a pretty different interpretation of Galway's classic. Sound-wise it goes along with late 80s / early 90s ambient trance music. Very analog sounding, very chillout'ish. There's more to this remix than the sum of its Technical/Artistic/Nostalgic ratings. Guess you'll have to listen to it yourself to experience thatโฆ you shouldn't miss this remix, it is very beautiful! |

Arabian Zoids (Themed Solo) - arranged by LarsecReview by LMan, 17/02/2003 This remix is so beautiful, I'm actually lacking the words to describe how beautiful. The whole thing sounds like a movie score, comparable to Dune, Blade Runner and Terminator (which have all great movie scores)๐I've listened to this mix a thousand times, and will propably listen to it a thousand times more. Please, more of the same, Larsec!!! |

Cauldron II - I am a Pumpkin Man - arranged by traumaReview by LMan, 17/02/2003 Ay carramba! What a great remix! Technically, it's perfect: great mixing/mastering, overall quality and selection of sounds. Artistically, Trauma spills creativity all over the place, combining various styles into something unique - yet it works perfectly. This remix slowly but constantly builds up until it finally culminates in a musical frenzy. The lyrics and the clever implementation of Richard Joseph's original tune do all to spark nostalgia.I wouldn't have thought it was possible to make a remix of this SID I'd like even more than the 909Sadist's! But here it is! (be sure to check them both out) ๐ |

Kung-Fu Master (Mountains Rock mix) - arranged by dor-xReview by LMan, 02/02/2003 This tune is just so Pulp Fiction! Listen to the mix, close your eyes and imagine Jules and Vincent readying their guns and approaching their targets who are hiding out in a cheesy nightclubโฆ ๐This remix has a great 70s feel to it; the timing problems of the distorted guitar may be a little annoying, but all in all they even add to that impression. Very well done! |

Congo Bongo (twin bong mix) - arranged by dor-xReview by LMan, 02/02/2003 Watch out Massive Attack, cause here comes trip-hop in perfection. Sinister pads accompanied by a dry trippy beat, spiced up by bits and clips from the congo-bongo sid. And when you fall into the mood of this mix, suddenly it gets even better: the guitar kicks in. If you listen to this tune more than once, you'll get hooked to it.A remix faaar from the mainstream, nevertheless an important addition to RKO. Kudos to Dor-X, propably the most overlooked remixer of the scene! ๐ |

Cobra (skyline remix) - arranged by Thomas DetertReview by LMan, 02/02/2003 Totally awesome! Thomas does Vangelis style again. This would fit seamlessly into the Blade Runner soundtrack. The instruments are replicated perfectly, you couldn't tell the tune from a real Vangelis track. The Cobra melody is incorporated properly to fit into that mood. I actually haven't heard Sylvester Levay's original, but there's no way it could be better than this! Thus top smiley for all categories! ๐ |

Sigma Seven (Chariots of Fire) - arranged by Thomas DetertReview by LMan, 27/01/2003 Awesome! If you wouldn't know better, you'd say it is Vangelis. It sounds so much like Chariots Of Fire, and Sigma Seven fits perfectly into that mood. Very beautiful arrangement, and technically flawless, while the Vangleis-like sound does everything to spark nostalgia. |

M.U.L.E. (Aerobics in the jungle mix) - arranged by MahoneyReview by LMan, 23/01/2003 The jungle fever is on the loose! Go and get yourself infected! ๐Extraordinary well produced (like all of Mahoney's tunes), and really innovative (like all of Mahoney's tunes). What's left to say? Grab this mix and sing along: Laaa behdum dum baah dum bah dutโฆ Great work! ๐ |

Cauldron II (Besen Mix) - arranged by The 909SadistReview by LMan, 21/01/2003 909 Sadist has done a great job here, joining filtered sid, synth sounds and a punchy electronic beat. The result is something that would rock the house and techno dancefloors for sure. The mixdown sounds very professional.Describe this mix in one word? Techno! |

Last Ninja III (qso-mix) - arranged by CirdanReview by LMan, 21/01/2003 Cirdan took the beautiful Last Ninja III subtune 10, and turned it into something even better. It starts off with a nice ambience, slowly and calm, just until the beat kicks in. An extraordinary 80's sounding background supports the ethnic lead instruments perfectly. The track is mixed and equalised very well, but unfortunately there's also some distortion at several spots. A little less maximising propably would do. But that doesn't really lower the fun of listening to this masterpiece, it actually helps it sounding 80s. For me, it's one of the greatest tracks in 2002. |

Flight Path 737 - arranged by Tim ForsythReview by LMan, 17/01/2003 Beautyfully arranged! Tim Forsyth takes us up to higher dimensions with his chillouty remix of Flight Path 737. The arrangement reminds me a little of Clannad. Very good instrumentation and a lot of emotion make this tune Outstanding for me. |
