Not cinematic, doesn't sound like trailer music, either, but at least the guitars make it sound rock-ish.
LOL! Yes.. You caught the original idea.. How about.. Perhaps add a brighter set on top, keep this adjacent.. Play CRAZIER than original, dont care too much the original or anybody, just more ANARCHY for it you'll have true Zak punk version!
For me the best version of Zak McKracken, the intro sound! Starts really nice and slow and goosebumps when the guitar kicks in.
