Paperboy - arranged by LuodeReview by DMC, 20/11/2024 First of all, I think it's completely inappropriate to criticize a newcomer for his very first remix in this way, especially since the AI ββaccusations don't seem to be true at all. People can have different opinions about music styles and tastes, but someone has made the effort to remix a song, so this should be recognized and appreciated in the first place! I find your remix quite interesting and in a way it suits my taste too. Although I wouldn't have immediately recognized it as a Paperboy remix if it hadn't been named that! π The quality of the mixing and mastering could be improved. I think the arrangement is pretty good. You're on the right track. I definitely think there's enough potential here for more exciting and good sounding remixes and I would like to encourage you to keep at it and make more remixes for us to enjoy! |

ACE 2 (Danger Zone Edit) - arranged by Dr FutureReview by DMC, 23/10/2022 Totally awesome track no doubt about it. But one thing bugs me when listening to the first few notes of the track: The sound of that bass is waaaay too soft. The original sound (they used Yamaha DX7 factory rom bank #3 - preset 12 E-Bass 1 on the original track) really kicked ass and should've been used here to give the track the necassary bite. But this is just nitpicking and a matter of taste because the whole track is just plain awesome - starting form your first idea to the final product. Had great fun listening to it and excatly that's what matters. π |

Hades Nebula Title (Etheral Chill Remix) - arranged by Jinx138Review by DMC, 15/07/2022 Since LaLa did his fabulous take on Hades Nebula it is very hard for me to open my heart to other people's attempt on Hades Nebula. But this one clearly has something to it. I like the style, the choice of sounds, the arrangement and the atmosphere. It seems like this is your very first track on remix64 so all I can say is: Very well done and keep up your good work. I am looking forward to more remixes. |

Ace II Title Screen - arranged by OxxReview by DMC, 11/04/2022 Welcome to the remix scene, Oxx. You delivered a great start with a classic tune by Rob Hubbard. Your attempt of remixing Ace II really is a good one. I love the choice of sounds - especially that choir sound reminds me of Enjoy the silence by Depeche Mode which is a good thing! πI just stumbled upon the T-Force Alpha VST a few weeks back and wondered what sounds it may be capable of. Now I know! π The track lacks a bit of punchyness for this genre but doesn't sound terrible at all. It's just that little oomph that is missing. Maybe if you tinker around a bit with compression and eq'ing your mix will benefit from that in the future. I encourage you to keep on remixing - I really had fun listening to your first track here on RKO and hope there is lots more to come! |

The Great Giana Sisters - arranged by Johan AnderssonReview by DMC, 11/04/2022 You need balls to put up remix number 87 to compete with the 86 already existing remixes and sometimes exactly those balls lead to good things like this. Kudos Johan. Well done remix of a well known classic tune. I was suprised because I actually expected a totally different style from Mr. Andersson! πI love the structure of the whole track starting with the piano part and then fading into the guitar solo towards the end. Everything fits together nicely giving me a real good time listening. I am with LaLa on the distortion - sometimes the track sounds a little bit too hot (thought I heard the kick distort every now an then) but nothing too serious. Really well done. Please more surprises in the future! π |

Cauldron 2 - arranged by MakkeReview by DMC, 24/01/2021 When I first heard this track I thought: Wow, what type of vocoder is this (because this thing has a special sound to it that I never heard before)? I never figured it out but every time I listend to the track, the same question came to my mind: What vocoder did he use. Today is the day I was waiting for so long. You revealed it to the public (Ok, I could've asked you, but I never did) πSadly, the plugin isn't available anymore.π The whole track is full of Kraftwerk related blips and blops and this is a good thing. Everything sits well and tight in the mix and sounds marvellous (but it already did with the first released album version). Thanks for releasing it on RKO. I'm looking forward to the next releases from It's binary, baby!. |
