Every single hotel in Brighton seems to have this rule, doesn't it?

What a bummer it is...!

Unfortunately, a lot of UK seaside resorts are like that, particularly over weekends during the Summer months. Blackpool and Southport are the same over here, too, which is why a lot of people go to Travelodge etc for one night stays.

Also, I think the move is to try and deter large groups of people hitting the town on hen and stag nights as well - probably why a lot of people might not have been able to book certain hotels too.

Something to bear in mind in the future, methinks...

I'll say it's a bummer. Tried all Friday to get somewhere for Sat, and nobody wanted to know.

Here's a good one.

Me. "Hi, I'd like to book a room"
Hotel. "We're fully booked"
Me. "I haven't told you the date yet"
Hotel. "oh."

Bit bizarre, but maybe he prefers his hotel empty without any of the riff raff mucking up his bedroom.

Another thing that might be a problem is for those with cars. Last time I went to Brighton was about 10 years ago, and you had to get some kind of permit thingy from a newsagents to allow you to park anywhere.

The booked hotels I did phone usually had space for 1 or 2 cars.. not good.

Looks like the beach for me then :(

I'll give you a ring during the week...
There's free parking at the Marina, BTW. Maybe I'm going to have to run
a Shuttle service in my MPV :)

There's an NCP just behind the Brighton Centre, which is about £12.00 for 24 hours, apparently. Probably the best thing to do.

We had no problems finding a room for Saturday night only......just problems finding something under 300 pounds a night! We did eventually succeed with getting it down to 110 pounds for room.

OUCH.

Oh well. 'at's life. DAMN was the show incredible........... and the DVD that comes out soon (RIGHT??????????) should be great too.......

Hiho Hat! Nice meeting you at BITLive. As someone pointed you out as the "Guy who used to run Arnold" I had you mixed up with that norwegian chap who started it all. Sorry about the confusion. =)
