10 Worst SIDs Ever - Volume 2 - Suggestions needed!

Recently Boz and I have been thinking about doing a follow up to Chris and Boz's highly hilarious and successful show: "Worst SIDs ever" where the really awful C64 tunes out there were played, discussed and generally ridiculed.

Now, the time has come where it's time to get a sequel done: "Worst SIDs Ever II" primarily as there's been lots more SID tunes added to HVSC since the previous show, and also it'd be my own little way to contribute towards a Slay show.

But what I'll need are some suggestions for the appalling tunes that would feature - and a pair of cotton wool buds might come in handy for this task, somehow.

Simply:

* Pick the tune in HVSC 5.9 that you wish to nominate after painful listening and make sure you copy the full HVSC path.

* If the SID has more than one subtune, and it's a particular subtune within the SID, put #<number of subtune> afterwards. For example:

/Hoernell_Karl/Fungus.sid #2
(this would mean subtune 2 is what you'd like to select)

* Stuff from the first show is automatically excluded - see
http://c64audio.valuehost.co.uk/edge/worstsids.htm

* You have until Friday 29th April to post a reply to this thread.

Here's a few suggestions to give you some ideas:

/DEMOS/Alphaflight_Intro.sid
/GAMES/A-F/007_Car_Chase.sid
/GAMES/A-F/Eskimo_Eddie.sid
/GAMES/A-F/Freddy_Hardest.sid
/GAMES/M-R/Mega_Turbo.sid
/GAMES/M-R/Radius_1988.sid
/GAMES/S-Z/Snare.sid
/Leitch_Barry/Living_OK.sid
/Teichmann_Axel/Vyrus.sid

Okay, so get listening and get nominating. Waz holds no responsibility for damaged eardrums or excessive addiction to bad SIDs.

Is that one actually available anywhere? It's missing in the download section of Slay Radio, unless I've completely overlooked it (don' think so).

* Well, OK, not technically true.

Progress report:

I've pretty much nominated most of the worst SIDs, thanks to some suggestions here and on Lemon64.

The initial plan was to hook up with Boz and get the show recorded with the two of us giving our unique (ahem) critique on the tunes. However, with his impending move Sverige-wards, this is looking very much unlikely.

Boz did tell me he'd give me some useful advice if I wanted to go ahead and record the show myself. Maybe I could even convince Neil and Dan to head down to Zaw Towers to assist with the critical appraisals (or bribe them with sufficient quantities of ale ;) so that there'd be a few of us up for it.

I'll keep everyone posted, as I'd like to do it for sure, and it'd be my little way of saying thanks to Slaygon for all the help and support he gave me when I was doing HVSC stuff, and for making SlayRadio what it is today..

Waz - you'll probably be able to tell me ol' mucka ! But the loading tune from Mercenary (Paul Woakes) during the Novaload - is that classed as an actual tune ?

Honest - really is it ?

I couldn't find this anywhere on any searches.
Sh*t though it may be, I loaded the damn game so many times I can still accurately remember how the "tune" goes.

Perhaps a nomination for 'bubbling under' ?

Sick b*stard that I am, I'd still like to hear this again :)

That's a thought... I thought I'd exorcised that one from my mind. True, it's bloody awful!

Errr.. thanks Chris (I think).
Having just downloaded said 'music' I am pleased to announce that it's not quite as bad as my memory serves, but it's still pretty gruesome.

I cant remember that tune much but I thought it was a cover of a classical piece of music? I could well be wrong and if so please feel free to decapitate me with a slice of celery
