Post by tas »

In a few hours i'll be making my way upto sunny manchester, staying at Warren Pilkingtons for the night (thanks warren). Early tomorrow i'll be jetting off to Germany and making way way to Leipzig to see the "GC concert". Really looking forward to that, Turrican played LIVE by a large orchestra should rock!

I'll be back in Donny sometime on Friday (if i don't get lost ;)

See ya all soon...

Bon Voyage!

I'm sorry if my "real world" related attempt at a ironic remark shattered the calm of this enclosed, strictly remix community.

The "UK border is as open as a 7-eleven!" Remark, it just reminded me on the "Britain is flooded with Illegal immigrants" headlines in the Daily Mail.

GC is a symphonic concert of game music run by Tom Boecker, who did Merregnon and Merregnon II.

I'm hoping he'll be able to squeeze in a couple of C64 tunes next year :)

It's actually happening this Wednesday, so you're not too late.. I'm going there, too (having obtained rather well-placed seating thanks to being a gaming journo, yay), and I like the line-up this year a lot better.

Having C64 tunes would indeed be still way cooler, but I don't see that happening (kids just don't care about the best soundchip ever anymore).. ah well.

I guess you're not very involved with current videogaming these days anymore? GC stands for Games Convention, which is by now the probably biggest European videogaming exhibition and takes place in Leipzig starting on Thursday.

And the GC concert is the opening ceremony traking place on Wednesday with some boring speeches followed by a most likely lovely symphonic concert featuring mostly classic gaming tunes by Hülsbeck, Uematsu & co., organized by the guy also responsible for the Merregnon project.
