Re: Depeche Mode? WRONG!
And don't you think the whole Corbijn thing has run its course now? Maybe, but then he did have some range and some of the concepts were excellent, such as Useless and It's No Good. I cannot see any connection in lyrical style, melody or even production to anything around the time of Black Celebrat...

Re: Depeche Mode? WRONG!
Hmm. The more I hear the track, the more it sounds like something 'extra' from Black Celebration. Certainly not a patch on the band's best singles, and a continuation of the 'gap' evident since Wilder quit. As for that video, it's not terrible, but it totally lacks atmosphere. A shame the band's par...

Re: Depeche Mode? WRONG!
What's with all the 5.1 surround sound mixes for albums? Gah! Waste of bloody time. Much like the Human League, post-Travelogue. No label will sign them either, because it's literally impossible to fit their combined egos and huge, swelling big heads into a boardroom.

Re: 1st Class Alcoholics: Kernkraft
3) Having looked, there isn't a single SID I can pinpoint that could be "Kernkraft 400 v2" There are a few with potential, the most obvious of which is Paul Norman's Aztec Challenge. There are a bunch of hooks in that which could be co-opted for a f——ing awesome club track. Comic Bake...

Re: System 3 - not doing ninja game, WTF?
They also did a fairly spot-on remake of Impossible Mission for the Nintendo DS. Have you played it? Superficially, it's the same game, but it just doesn't 'feel' right. Also, the fact they didn't put IM 2 on the cart as well is pretty shocking. And apparently, they're supposed to be bringing out C...

Re: SIDPLAY/Mac 4.0 released
Supremely delayed response, this, but I'm not on here much these days. However, I just wanted to say: great job! Sidplay/Mac is now like a little iTunes, and the addition of smart playlists is great to see. It'd probably be nice (if it's possible) to see more 'standard' controls top-left (back/next,...

And there's a problem I have: I've put this information into a rotating banner at the top of the page, and in a message which rotates in the header. Should I put this info as an extra line at the bottom of each track listing? Ask yourself this question: is the information important to the user, and...

Right, I didn't understand how elements of the shop work. Anyway, some answers below. First, tracks have more than one download. A given line on that table might have 10-15 downloads associated with it: sometimes more (for instance, Rambo on Project Galway has behind it most of the subtunes for that...

This all sounds terribly complicated to me. Why not just have two buttons: 'preview' and 'add to cart'? For items that aren't available on an individual basis, just rip-off iTunes and change 'add to cart' to 'album only', slightly more greyed out. For items that are free downloads, just change the p...

Hmm, I've nothing against 30 second tracks, but I'll need to set aside some time, which is sorely lacking. I guess this shop will be a marathon rather than a sprint.... I don't have to put 30 second clips for the bonus content, do I? Nuts to the bonus stuff, but it would be handy to access previews...

Which ones did you want to hear previews of? There's a lot of free stuff on the FTC album which can be downloaded: or do people prefer a 30 second sample of each track rather than a few free tracks off the album? Personally, I would offer a combination of the two: a 30-second preview of every track...

I think the main problem with Jarre's stuff is that in his desire to remain relevant he's forgotten what it takes to do so. The more recent work is too polished and glossy, removing the grit and randomness evident in his very early work. He's also not making best use of the technology, offering fair...
