Re: Crystal Rain wip
I'm thinking it's too much atmosphere, too little music. It lingers a bit too much. You're right about it being atmospheric - I'd expect this to acccompany a scene in a film where the husband comes home and finds his wife slaughtered - you see him pick her up and scream in anguish "WHY" b...

Re: Soundcard recommendation ???
I have a Creative X-Fi, however it's hard to recommend after they decided to change the midi connectors to mini din - you get the cables included but if you lose or damage one, they don't sell replacements separately. Why deviate from the standard 5 pin din anyway???? The Asus Xonar Essence STX PCI-...

Body Blows - Team 17
Ever since I discovered Remix64 and have listened to very little else, One track I've never seen or heard remixed was Alistair Brimble's Body Blows from Team 17. I loved the original and thought it was one of, if not the best Amiga game soundtrack. I've remixed it using the one and only MED Sound St...

Can't help identifying ti personally' however if it's commercial, the Shazam app on the iphone may help.
I had an 8 second sample (in 8-bit) I used in the early 90's and someone used the app and it came back correct.
Happy hunting!

Hugely nostalgic feel about this track - I almost expected the 'Kids from FAME' to leap onto my screen (you have to be at least 35 to understand) and it certainly captures the sound of that era.
I particularly like the uplifting section around 2:20 as it presents a more modern feel.

Re: My first c64 remix.... So far
Thanks for the feedback - I listened to it in the car a few times and noticed this also.
I tried to keep the instrument for the base line close to the original too, but it can barely be heard.
I shall do some tweaking over the next few days.

My first c64 remix.... So far
Hi all, Since I discovered the site, I've pretty much listened to nothing else but c64 and Amiga remixes for the past couple of years. I used to dabble a fair bit with Octamed in the Amiga days (about 15 years have passed since I last wrote anything musical) and after being forced into PC ownership,...

Old c64/amiga game footage needed
I'm looking to put together a video similar to the good old Kefrens, LSD, Red sector type demos from years gone by. I have the music all ready (one of this sites amazing offerings) but need to find footage of the real classics, like Ninja, Gianna, rtype etc. It's intended to be both a retro trip for...

Arturias moog modular V
Has anyone got this quite marvellous virtual synth? Audiomidi.com are doing it for $225 from $329. Having not done anything much musicwise for 10 years (since my beloved amiga), I began craving for the old days wheree I'd stay up for days just to perfect some piano sequence in octamed. After discove...

configuring sidamp
Hey all, I read ifamouses' post on sidamp in winamp, but I can't for the life of me get it to work. I'm trying to save each channel to disk as a .wav, but when using the mixer, it won't split the channels. I'm using winamp5. The mixer has no effect whatever I do Also, I cant configure sidamp to play...
