Re: ReBirth for the iPhone
Just noticed that Korg have knocked 50% both iElectribe and iMS-20 for iPad. And on the same day that Garageband is coming out for it as well. Unsurprising, really. GarageBand for three quid is going to be the most disruptive software for the system, and rivals are going to have to work really hard...

Re: ReBirth for the iPhone
If only I had the time. NanoStudio happily works with samples as well as the built-in synths/kits, so it would be possible to get something sounding great.

Re: ReBirth for the iPhone
Nanostudio looks AND sounds AMAZING! :D It's great—like someone smashed GarageBand (or even Logic Express) into an iPhone, but made it even better. quote]If I knew about that prog before I got my android I would have consider an iphone, but hopefully (crosses fingers) something as good will come ...

Re: ReBirth for the iPhone
Anyone here tried NanoStudio? It's utterly fab.
I can't see it, until Google sorts out Android's fragmentation and appalling commerce system.trace wrote:Wonder if it will come to android...Not likely i guess... :/

Re: C64 to be Reborn ...
I do quite like the re-birth of a computer that's in the keyboard rather than in a box. That's what would make me buy it, rather than the extremely not-C64 spec of the machine. I think it's hideous—totally unergonomic and terribly ugly. Also, when you can stuff the majority of a computer in an en...

Re: Timbaland Court Case starts on Wednesday
What they have tried to do is claim that David couldn't have written the tune Zombie Nation used, because there were other covers in the game. Therefore, he didn't write it. That's good news, because logically, Zombie Nation couldn't have written [insert any Zombie Nation tune] because his catalogu...

Re: SID article in Retro Gamer 71
@Jan Lund Thomsen: regarding postage, it's a fairly heavy mag. When I posted copies to some ex-Atari people in the US, it cost almost a fiver per issue for airmail. As for Martin, I was expecting a no, since he declined previous interview requests. But the fact this was about music rather than gamin...

SID article in Retro Gamer 71
Hello! Seeing as there are one or two SID fans here(!), I figured I'd mention Retro Gamer 71 has a rather chunky SID feature by yours truly. It has a round-table discussion with a dozen people, including Mr Martin Walker (in, I think, his first interview for the mag). The mag in question's the one w...

Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
Perhaps surprisingly, Apple's handhelds (iPhone and iPod touch) are great for retro-oriented gaming. I haven't turned on my DS in ages. Check out my GamesRadar article for an example of a few great titles.RobinsonMason wrote:Of course this happens right after I pick up my Samsung Rogue.

Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
I've interviewed the guys behind this. The reason the app originally got rejected had nothing to do with copyright—it was down to Apple laying down the letter of the law regarding the SDK agreement and 'interpretation' of rules regarding interpreters. Sega managed to get through unscathed througho...

C64 music/SID article in upcoming Retro Gamer
Hi all, I don't know why I forgot to post this here, but: I'm about to start researching a large feature on SID music for Retro Gamer. If there's anything you'd like to see, please reply here. Also, if anyone's in touch with famous C64 musicians of days gone by (or you are one), please let me know v...

Re: C64 emulator for iPhone
The SID Player's not bad, although a bit feature-light (as I said in my review on iPhoneTiny. However, the author got back to me and said playlists are coming in an update, which is the main downside to the app.
As for a C64 emulator on the device, don't hold your breath.

Re: International Karate theme "borrowed" From Clock on Five???
Well, that was at least inoffensive, in Oakenfold's typically bland manner.
I reckon MCML could work nicely as a dance track, but they need a bit more care with the original music and its oriental nature.

Re: International Karate theme "borrowed" From Clock on Five???
"Heard of asia" from Watergate (produced by the famous german "DJ Quicksilver") Well, there's three minutes on last.fm that I'll never get back. That was utterly hideous, although I'm sure a decent club mix of Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence could be done. That Clock On mix is prett...
