Re: how to rip instruments from sids
From the discussion of SID vs MIDI Also, did anyone notice that SID2MIDI has a TXT output option that shows you what the registers are doing? I once wrote an Access database to process that output: once you can see what waveforms are being used, what SFX are being put on, what the ADSR is doing, and...

Re: SID vs MIDI
I'm no good at playing by ear/learning notes by listening to them, so SID2MIDI is invaluable. Of course, it doesn't always work - my idea of doing an "I Predict A Pumpkin" remix of Cauldron vs the Kaiser Chiefs failed when SID2MIDI gave me nothing...

Re: IGNORE! Machine did this instead of 'reply to thread'
redneck Now, there's some interesting etymology behind that word. Farmers in the Deep South of America were always out in the sun, working hard. So to have a red neck was a sign of being an important part of the rural community. Nowadays of course it's become an insult, aimed at those with outdated...

Re: IGNORE! Machine did this instead of 'reply to thread'
What are you people doing? The first post is clear enough, ignore this thread because the machine did this instead of replying to another thread.
But no, 642 replies later we are still here and still failing to ignore it. I don't know what else I can do to persuade to stop posting here...

Re: JMJ - Essentials & Rarities.
Often depends on how much input the artist has had in choosing the tracks. One of my favourite bands, Turin Brakes, did a fan vote for the 2nd CD of their recent "best of", which was great. Whereas another best of I picked up recently was very disappointing as it was essentially just the s...

Alternative version of Arkanoid
So, now this has been premiered by Boz, will there be a SID file we can listen to on the original hardware?
