Zoids Revisited

I feel a bit hesitant about posting this but, well, here goes nothing. After releasing Zoids last year I've tried to tweak the mix a bit to get it sound better. Thicker. More productive, you know. Anyway, those attempts fell short of the goal and ended up unused. After I made Calm with the real drum...

Ahem. Honoring the tradition of iterative development I uploaded a new version of Calm to my server. The URL stays the same, http://www.playbynumbers.com/mp3/calm.mp3 The main change is the addition of live recorded drums instead of the BFD loops. This wasn't supposed to be done for Calm but I neede...

There's an updated version at http://www.playbynumbers.com/mp3/calm.mp3 for those who are still interested ;) It seems I encoded the first version in glorious mono instead of the new millennium stereo technology. Also, I couldn't keep myself from doing some improvements (well, in my opinion at least...

Calm by Slaygon

From the three-chords-oughta-be-enough-for-everyone department... Umm, this one was pretty hard in some way and pretty easy in others. I had to go through two demo versions until doing the final from scratch but doing the final version took only about 8 hours. The main point was to try to get decent...

Re: Personal lists

Or read the book. I'm told such things still exist. =) I could try to sneak out of this shame by explaining how I tried approaching the masses via the lowest common... oh forget it :) Yeah, I've read (and have) the Nick Hornsby book too, just forgot totally that it exists. I'm not much of a fiction...

Personal lists

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but here goes anyway. As a community feature It would be great if users could group remixes forming personal lists, sharing them via the member profiles or on a new section (listed by creation date etc). Instead of voting it would be another method to ...

Have you tried Mikseri.net? It's a really nice community. Tried it, hated it ;) Or at least that was the first impression. Full of trance/eurodance pushing teens, it seems (like most of the other communities too). Maybe it's just me, but I didn't feel at home there either. Oh well, I'll just whine ...

If you know the Swedish language (which I guess you can handle a little bit better than German, since you're from Finland!), then take a look at club Cubase? Let's not go to my svenska skills either ;) Those are pretty much on the hello world -level. But as good as those forums on their own right a...

Well, i am always on http://www.logicuser.de which is not only a place for musicians who work on LOGIC . You'll find everthing there from pro to non-pro users. Unfortunately it's mostly in german language , but some people from Scandinavia are there as well and most of the guys do speak english,too...

Communities for musicians?

I've been searching for a while for a decent place to contact other musicians on non-c64-remix issues, but I haven't found any decent communities offering forums, sharing and the usual stuff. For artists in general there's deviantart.com for example, but that's mostly for the visual arts. Anyone fou...

I suppose the low price is due to the fact its a Scandinavian brand perhaps. Doesn't really matter - it's a finnish brand and they're almost as freakishly expensive in here as in everywhere else :) For example the 1030a that I've been looking for are 630e in the local shop vs. 700e in Thomann but t...

I hope they give us a really really good deal on the update! Well, since Apple has taken over it's bound to be bad for existing customers service-wise. The word on the street (mainly the http://www.osxaudio.com forums) is that the upgrade from gold/platinum 5/6 is $199 which in this weird economy t...

But anyway, i don't need such looooooong reverbs (25 seconds if i am not wrong) , i am more interested in ROOMS and PLATES and those are very useable with my G4 Yeah, I don't really use the longer reverbs with the SD, I'm a friend of a pretty dry mix in the end. :) But for me SD is The Tool to adap...
