Got the Amiga working again !!!
the 'TechnoPlus' mouse need a damn good clean, but now thats working perfectly.
the 1084s is more of a 1084 .. the speakers work, but are stuck at full volume :(
my mate Tim gave me a neat Creative 5.1 system. got the Amiga running in 2.1 very nicely.
well chuffed that, so far, most of the disks i have tried have loaded ok.
just using one external disk drive (the AF880 wont fit on the shelf)
its got an Obese Agnus with 2 meg of chip ram and, yes, its an old custom paint job :D

got the C64 set up too.
slightly less success rate with those disks though :( ... about 70% work
also got the Speccy, GameCube, dreamcast and N64 working.
won a Jaguar on ebay the other day (mine died) so that will be getting set up too

one odd thing with the C64 .. bought a new Matsui LCD TV for it.
the picture is perfect, but there is no sound at all, so i have to use a Wharfedale CRT TV for it.
the dreamcast works fine on the LCD.
strange.

pics i can do ..

Console cupboard ..
not yet complete. the spare amiga is there, the atari vcs 7800 is out of sight on top of the amiga. the N64 is visible and the jag will go in there.

Image
the C64, speccy, gamecube and dreamcast are here, along with a couple of jag joypads.
the C2N and 1541 are working ok (no need for head tricks ... yet) as more disks work than dont, i guess its more that the disks are bad rather than the drive.

the pc
Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme 9650. nVidia 8800 GTS 512, 4 Gig 1066Mhz DDR2 ram, 4x 500 Gig HDs, 1x 1Tb HD, 5.1 surround, Logitech G25 wheel, MS Sidewinder FF joystick, competition pro usb stick. scores 5.9 on vista's 'windows experience rating'

Does it smell of smoke too? You should sell tickets to late-30 somethings, to remind them of their old computer shops :)

all my 'geek type' friends love the computer room :D
everyone else thinks i am sadder than a bucket full of orphans at christmas. :(
i should be getting a 'long term lend' of an A5000 soon (the owner does not use it, but cant bring himself to get rid of it !)
problem is, i am starting to run out of space ...
might need a bigger house soon

Thats so awesome, when I see such things I almost wish myself 20 years back in time (almost).

Gotta love the flatscreen 1200 and the custom paintjob on the A500. :D

That is the beauty of this hobby, you can get stuff that you simply wouldn't have been able to afford when it was brand new.

indeed.
what I have now that I did not have in the day are:
Amiga 1200 (just had the 500)
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Acorn A5000
I still don't have a SNES yet, but I am running out of space :D

I must have mentioned it in these forums before, I regret selling my SNES and all the games I had for it, Donkey Kong Country was awesome for the time and Super Mario All Stars can keep you going for many many many hours.

I'd like to get another SNES one day.

I have an interesting story about the Sega Dreamcast... well at least interesting for a Geek Like me.

I was at a Local game shop called GameSpot, sadly they no longer have retro games and consoles like they used to.

Anyway, I went to this store to pick up Dragons Lair 3D for the PC. They said they had 3 in stock but couldnt find a single copy.

I was browsing the store and waiting and they had a stack of DreamCast consoles for $50 Canadian. They couldnt find my game which was going to cost around $63. I had the cash in my hand and I wasnt going to walk out of the store empty handed. So I picked up a DreamCast at that point I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Long story short. I have 2 dreamcasts, many dreamcast controllers, memory cards, the official sega keyboard, and other accessories.

Best $50 bucks ever spent.

I spread the word around and got 3-4 other friends to pickup dreamcasts as well.
