Remix:Kwed:Org back online...

Post by Jan Lund Thomsen »

People of Earth, your attention! =)

After 2 months of downtime followed by a weekend of intense code-tweaking, and rigorous testing, I'm proud to announce that Remix:Kwed:Org is once again ready to serve both the publics addiction to C64 remixes and the musicians craving for feedback, voting and online file storage,

Veterans to the site will notice the inclusion of a PayPal button. As opposed to the previous bsdlogin.com collection (that went towards resurrecting the hardware that hosts RKO/AmigaRemix/Slengpung.com and other quality scene-related sites), these donations are funneled exclusively into RKO matters (like getting a DVD-writer for backups).

Of course, if you think I'm a bloodsucking vampire who should just shut up and keep running the site for free and on my own time, feel free to go on as usual. I won't think you any less of a person for it - honestly. <coughs discretely>

At any rate, it's great to have the site back. A toast to another year of exiting music.

Something didn't work out as planned. You're seing this message because the upload processor says your file wasn't properly uploaded. If you see this error again, get in touch..
I got this twice after I tried to upload a 7MB big MP3 file. This may be fault but during all uploads so far I never got get that error before.
What to do Jan ?
Anybody else any experience with uploading since today ?

I can answer this. :)

Baffle forgot to set the max upload filesize to 20 megs - it's currently running at the default 2 megs. So if your remix is bigger than 2 megs, you can't upload it.

Jan only noticed this error an hour or so ago, but it'll be sorted ASAP. Unfortunatly it's nothing Jan can do anything about, as it's Baffle who sets the file size limit. :|

You do realise that means I've got to set up a PayPal account so I can donate...
Good to hear the good news!

@Hoomish: 'ppreciate it. Keep that download counter busy.

@Kenz: Cheers mate. What a weekend - Apart from taking two hours off Saturday night to watch Earth VS The Flying Saucers on DVD I haven't really done *anything* except work on RKO. Heck, I even missed a meal on Sunday. :(

@Merman: Looking forward to that, Andrew. Assuming it works out maybe I should donate a white label version of the very first RKO backup DVD to a future Remix64 competition. :D

@C64Glen: Love, eh? I charge extra for that. :P

@Infamous: Thanks, Chris. Once the dvd-writer is secured I can always convert future donations into pints of Guinness. L-uuuu-vly!

Depending on how strictly you set up PHP, the upload limit can be overridden for each page (or form actually). I suppose a multi-user server will prefer a fixed limit though.
