I honestly don't know if this helps but if you goto http://www.dreamspy.com it redirects you to http://www.machinelove.com/ and it seems their record label is called Dream Spy Records.

I don't have the time to go through all the tracks but from what it says on the site and their sound these might be the droids you are looking for?

don't know - might be worth a punt to listen to all their tracks in case they simply didn't label it right on somafm.com - your choice

Actually I am glad I found their site as some of the tracks the are simply outstanding even though they don't seem to be the Spy Vs. Spy remix you are looking for Maybe email tham and ask if they ever did one?

WHY ME!!!!!! bloody typical really isn't it hehe story of my life!

Anyway, updates =

The DJ from SomaFM replied to my email and basically said he has no idea or any info about that tune, obviously he HAS the tune but it's against their policy to send me the tune itself grrr, so all he could do was tell me the name of it, which ofc I already had.

Now, I have found but ONE instance of the name 'dreamspy' on the internet, and it is from an album (now out of print) called 'Ambient.01@hyperreal'.

I completely agree with you and this remix is the true meaning of the word ambient!

It always amazes me how musicians can take something like Spy Vs Spy which is actually only really an 8-Bar (10s) piece of music and turn it into such an interesting six minutes worth of music! I bet you Nick Scarim would have ever imagined that something like this would ever come out of his original tune!

This kind of reminds me of Feekzoid's - Something Stranger which was of course based around the 30 second countdown blips in Microprose Soccer by Martin "God" Galway but somehow Feekzoid turned it into a monster 10 minute long epic! All from 30 seconds worth of blips in the key of "G" (Galway's favourite key I believe!).

One day I will do such a thing and there is plenty of material out their in HVSC actually to base these kind of tracks on.
