[c64] Legend Intro

Post by Condor »

Anyone willing to do remix of this brilliant c64 sid tune?

MUSICIANS/S/Schutten_Martijn/Legend_Intro.sid
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/MUSICIANS/S/Sch ... _Intro.sid

Genre does not matter.

Thanks in advance.

It's an awesome tune, and I might just get around to re-remix it(I made a version in the 90's which you don't wanna hear), but don't hold your breath since I'm awfully lazy remixer.

Yes, tune is amazing and one of the best I've heard in my HVSC.

Please make a remix :D

I would also do a remix, but I feel I am not ready for that journey. Someday.

That tune was on my remix-to-do list even before I started remixing SIDs. :)
Managed to finish it recently, but I'm not too happy how it turned out:

[11.4M]

I think it would sound best in ambient style remix. Maybe in the future.

Good remix! I couldn't imagine remix of Legend Intro done in trance! Didn't tried to do it myself but you got it!
But, this track is not perfect, there are some stuff that needs to be improved.
First, bassline is great. but...
Hats are not so great, need to be more variation in it (classic trance track Altitude - Altitude (S.H.O.K.K remix) has wise use of hats). On 55th second you loose closed hats & ride - mistake!
1:59 - that trance synth & string should have cuttoff, so you can surprise listener. Some siren type of sound could be cool as well some snare (while snare pitch is going higher). - or just rpeat snare like you did at 4:13.
You have some very beautifull background synths :D

And yes, remove that 'top ten' vocal from the end. :D

Sorry for criticism, that is only suggestion.

Upload it to RKO and see what others will say about it.

Branko :D

P.S. Greetings from Montenergo neighbuor :D
Ne zamjeri sto sam ti iskritikovao rad. :D

Thanx, Max. Your 6 seconds sound promising too. :)

Thanx Branko. I always appreciate a constructive criticism. Must admit I was expecting something more in the lines of - argh, the sound is muddy / too much/little bass/mid/high, since it was 'produced' using a $10 headphones plugged into onboard sound.

Tune is already in R:K:O queue, and I don't think I'll be tweeking it or rearranging any more. If you're interested (and work in FL Studio) I can give you zipped FLP, so you can do with it what you like.

Pozdrav iz .hr, susjede. :)

Hehe, yes, I am FL user.
Something like remix of remix ((just like DHS did Comic Bakery & Follow Me))... Can be arranged :D
however I have also crappy sound system & 12 euro headphones :D

BTW, my mastering "skills" sucks, so I couldn't give muddy criticism (otherwise I would ;)), but some sounds could be cleaner.

Send .zip to branko.b@cg.yu and I'll do my best.

wow, this is indeed a beautiful brilliant remix,
thanks a lot!

ps: i'd also be interested in the .fl file, not that i am a remixer,
but little tweaking for personal use is always nice ;)
if possible, sent to dasepsilon at aol.com (hope it arrives there).
