Last Ninja 2 (earthshock)

Post by Maindrian »

Sorry, oops. This has been up at VG mix for a while now. I totally forgot to get your opinions guys. We cant have that can we?

Anyways. Its the sewers loader theme in an electronic, trippy style. I haven't shied away from putting some guitar in there, but it's mainly synthetic stuff. A departure for me really. What d'ya all think?

And now I'll never touch LN2 again, I swear. Ahem.
Great, another set of strings ruined...

Well you'll get a little review from me here..

Post by Dimmignatt »

Since my account on Vg doesn't work for the moment..
I'll write one there when ít does..

So i press play and here the familiar sounds in the beginning :)
Maybe not a really good choice of drums but hey the work :)
Let's jump a bit in where things start to happend.

1:43 the syntethic guitar comes in and it sounds pretty ok but i think some live guitars had worked better..
but i like how everything sounds here an calm sound you can dream away to another dimension (Last Ninja sewers) ;)

well let's jump again to
3:30 where an little improvisation comes in and it sounds good then the live guitar kicks in .. hmm i hear a very unpleasent noice..
Your guitar is not sounding good.. maybe if you tuned it first ??
well the idea was good and if you had worked a little bit more with it i for one think that it had turned out to be great..

Well I'll write on a scale of 10 here..

For the set up and composition
you'll get 4p

and for the nostalgic part 2p

and for the technical shit 1p

that makes 7 out of 10

so 7/10

if you had worked a bit harder with the guitars and made some more improvisation and maybe made it a little bit shorter it would have gotten real good..

keep up the work..

Actually, the part at 1:43 is live guitar. Its just heavily overdone with a flange type effect. Maybe I went a little over the top there, hehe.

Also, I did heavily detune the strings in places, just to see what weird noises and bends I could make. True, it didn't turn out so good and sounds like i'm trying too hard to be arty and strange, but I still like the tremolo at 4:01. You dont hear that too often, eh? I wonder why?

Thanks for that. Oh just so you know, your Trolls remix has been stuck in my playlist for most of this weekend. Its grown on me, big time. Any more like that on the way?
