Hehe, I should have three testicles then. I'm not agree with that on the sound front. The 128k AY chip made some rather nice noises. True, the 48k beeper sounded truly f*cking awful, much like that Gargling Hamster. On balance, I like both the SID and the AY. The SID is capable of so much more, but...

Childish, silly but VERY bloody funny.
Sorry if this has been posted before, but it was new one for me. The further you read, the more you will chuckle - the picture of Sir Clive at the end is a classic!

Most soundcards should now have a 'record what you hear' option in the volume control section for windows (at least that's what it's called on the Audigy). To record a whole track it would be best to select 'record what you hear', set your sample editor (Cool edit etc) recording and then open up Win...

I used to think hardware synths to be dead. I had to think again. My Virus KC is everything but dead: beside freeing cpu time on the PC for synthesis calculations, there's still nothing on the software side sounding like it (neither Virus Powercore, wich basically sounds like a Virus A). And.... wh...

Hi K.
A better explanation here:
http://www.hardsid.com/HSMIDI.htm#_Toc57875460
Last I knew, Chris Abbot @ c64audio.com had a bunch of Hardsids to sell. If you want to get one, that will be the quicker route if you are UK based (IF he still has any)

Renoise ( http://www.renoise.com ) is all you need to make a good remix. Hardware is officially dead, so if you want to upgrade from samples, just get some VST's - the better ones are now virtually indistinguishable from hardware anyway. For re-creating the C64 sounds, I recommend Linplug Albino or ...

Hi K. The Harsid will do exactly what you are asking via the free Hardsid Midi software it uses. You can load in a .sid file and the software will display each sid channel on screen. You than have to do a bit of searching to find the sound you want. Once you find it, you can save it as a patch and p...

Propellerheads Re-Birth RB338 for free :)
No, not a warez link - this is official.
Propellerheads have decided to make it freeware
http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/
For those who don't know, Re-Birth is software emulation of 2 TB303's, and an 808 & 909 drum machine.
Enjoy
