Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
Waldorf Pulse 1 & 2 are analog synthesizers, so they do not import samples in any way... for that you'd use their Blofeld synthesizer.

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
Recieved my long awaited Waldorf Pulse 2 synthesizer today... 1½ years after they said it would be released... good Things come to those WHO wait they write on their homepage... and surely... even though it was an irritatingly long wait, they're right :) Made a Little test between Pulse 1 and 2, and...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
Just made a "little" demo of some of the more sinister sounds from the Yamaha EX5... I'm really impressed with this synth to be honest... it can howl like no other synth I've come across thus far... be careful with your speakers! ... you have been warned! http://razmo.ziphoid.com...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
For me, both simplicity and complexity inspires me, and I like to have both types of devices in the studio... but I'm tired of older machines from the 80's and before, as they are getting harder and harder to maintain... the Eminent 310 Unique is a good example of that, and the only one left in my s...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
This one is on it's way into the studio as well very soon: http://www.pssl.com/images/ProdImage01/500/V-SYNTH-XT.jpg It's digital... I'm getting a few digital machines these days to fill in the gaps of different synthesis types instead of all those analogs which does basicaly the same... thus I've n...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
That's a typpical trick to get almost everything to sound "good"... throw some FX on it... you'd be surprised how sterile most Roland, Yamaha and KORG flagships sound, if you switch of the FX on them... they are usualy bathed in FX to hide some otherwise wimpy raw oscillators. It's the usu...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
It's still in maintenance actualy, but it's working quite well nonetheless. The problems with it currently is, that the orbitone (basicaly a chorus) does not work, as one of the three modulator boards are faulty and needs to be fixed, so that I have desoldered at the moment. Other problems is that t...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
If you're thinking about the raw waveform material, before filters, FX and all that, then many of them does not have anything much different... they may have a lot less aliasing noise than what game consoles have etc. and some machines have more complex waveform generation methods like with FM and o...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
I don't really want to make comparisons because to me, it matters not how many or how expensive tools you have, but what inspires you to make music... many a hit record has been made on "cheap stuff"... in the end sound is sound, and all that matters is what you do with it. The only reason...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
The Cat is an excellent addition to the studio and as always Evil Geniuses always need a cat, so they can plan their dastardly deeds. :) (Well in this case there is more Genius) That was one dastardly compliment there ANX64! ... thanx! :arr: Anyways, the cat is dastardly enough... He's had...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
And in the process of getting this KORG Radias (and other synths by the way), I'm making a change in my studio... some of the older analog machines are going out, as they are not as flexible in my opinion, and begin to require a lot of maintenance. I'm trying to change the older stuff, so that I onl...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
But to remedy the sudden attack of "cat in the studio", this is the latest addition to the studio, or rather I'm in the process of making a deal about this. It will fill a niche in my studio because of it's MOSS synthesis... I've had my eyes on this one for years, and now seems to be the t...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
I'd "like" that if it was a Facebook post! Sorry, but I don't do facebook  Cat's and studio goes together... I don't know why really, but there are loads of pictures out there with cat's in studio's... must be a logical explanation for it, and the "phenomenon" has hit me a...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
Here is the newest addition to the studio; A Zeus mkI... the sound is... erm... hairy, and it runs on tuna... Perfect for filtering mice with a steep "cutoff" curve  We do not agree on wether the space next to my keyboard is for Zeus or a Mouse... but I can see the confusing aspect o...

Re: Razmo's Gear rambling thread
I've been sampling the E310U strings ensemble today, and thrown the samples into my E-MU E5000 Ultra sampler. I ended up with a 61 key sampled strings ensemble, where I've taken each and every key and sampled it to get the most authentic sound out of it. Normaly the manuals on the E310U are a little...
